for the love of appas

Hi, I'm Julia. I love That 70's Show, cats, tea, Avatar, Sailor Moon, My So-Called Life and a random assortment of other things. <3

nooktoobomb:

one of my favourite ship combos is when you have one really grumpy/cranky character or someone deathly serious who never smiles and a really happy/bubbly/energetic character that drags them everywhere and the first character looks really unamused but the happy character’s having the time of their life and then the happy character smooches the grumpy character and the grumpy character just gives this soft little smile and AAAAAAAAAAAAA

Ok.

This was the moment when I started shipping Jackie and Hyde.  I love it firstly because it shows a hitherto unseen side of Jackie, both to us and to Hyde, and secondly because it reveals what they both have in common: absent/dysfunctional parents.  Yes, it’s brief, but it hints that maybe they have more in common than they thought.

Lastly, I LOVE Red in this whole episode.  It’s clear that he’s the best father figure that either Hyde or Jackie have, and he knows it, and he doesn’t take that role lightly, no matter how much he complains about it sometimes.  I always felt like this moment was Red’s version of Kitty’s “pow!” in S3.  Just look at the way he watches Hyde after she dives back under the car, and they way Hyde turns back to see her again.  I think that Red knows exactly where these two will end up, long before anyone else does, because of this moment.

Red’s the best <3
